At least one NFL Draft analyst believes that the Cowboys have a late-round gem.
ESPN’s Matt Miller tweeted his reaction to Dallas’ selection of LSU linebacker Damone Campbell 176th in the fifth round.
Saying, “Dallas getting Damone Clark feels like a steal.”

Clark’s draft stock seems to be held back by the spinal fusion surgery that he had following a herniated disc was discovered by the Combine.
That being said, size, speed, and production are important. Clark was an inside LB and brought that to Baton Rouge.
Clark had 12 games last year and accumulated 135 tackles, 15.5 lose tackles, 5.5 sacks, two fumbles, and an interception. All this while weighing in at around 6-3 and 240 pounds.
The LSU product will likely be out of action for the entire 2022 season due to the surgery. The Cowboys have been patient at the linebacker position before. Their 2016 selection of Jaylon Smith, who went on to become a Pro Bowler, is a good example.
