Ezekiel Elliott reacts to Cowboys drafting CeeDee Lamb

After the Cowboys caught the lucky break they wanted, Zeke could not contain his excitement.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick. Many thought that Lamb would have been taken by the Raiders or the Broncos if the Raiders passed on him. Instead, the Cowboys grasped at the opportunity.

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott couldn’t be thrilled. After Lamb was drafted, FOX Sports posted an image of Lamb, Elliott, Amari Cooper, and Michael Gallup.

Elliott retweeted the image with an emoji attached to it. Elliott is obviously hyped about his new teammate.

The Raiders selected Ruggs, while the Broncos took Jeudy. The 49ers gave the Cowboys the luck they needed by drafting Javon Kinlaw instead of a wideout. With expectations the Cowboys would draft Xavier McKinney, the team detoured once Lamb was available.

The best case scenario happened. The Cowboys might have drafted the best receiver in the class, while McKinney, originally projected to go in the first round, remains on the board as the Cowboys enter the second round.

Lamb, the 6-foot-2, 192-pound wideout from Oklahoma, rounds out the receiving corps with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. The combination of the three ranks right up there as the best trio in the league.

Coming into the draft, Lamb was pegged as one of the best receivers in this class. Last season, Lamb caught 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Before Lamb has even played a down of football for the Dallas Cowboys, the owner wants to give his new receiver No. 88 according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“Jerry Jones said he would like CeeDee Lamb to wear No. 88, following in the Cowboys WR footsteps of Dez Bryant, Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson.”
