According to reports, a long-time NFL coach died Monday morning.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN NFL reported that Ernie Zampese, the long-time offensive coach, died this morning.
Mortensen wrote that Ernie Zampese, one of the most important offensive coaches in NFL history, died this morning at the 86th birthday.
Zampese was well-known for his offensive brilliance. He worked for the Chargers as well as the Jets, Cowboys and Patriots, Redskins, Rams, Rams, Patriots, Rams, and Patriots.
“Ernie was doing stuff in the 70’s and the 80’s that people today think are new and it isn’t,” said Norv Turner. “If Don Coryell were here today, he’d tell you.”
Ernie Zampese passed away this morning at the age of 86, one of the most influential offensive coaches in NFL history.

Zampese was a coach of football between 1962 and 2004.
