DeMarcus Lawrence led Dallas Cowboys to victory over the New York Giants 23-16 on Monday Night Football. Lawrence chased down Daniel Jones throughout the evening and then went after NBA royalty.
After scoring a 36-yard rush touchdown, LeBron James declared Saquon Barkley “back”. This was after the G-Men took a 3-1 lead in the third quarter. Lawrence replied to the tweet with an “L” after the Cowboys beat their NFC East opponent.

Barkley’s performance isn’t affected by the game’s outcome. Barkley accumulated 126 yards on 18 touches. He is now averaging 6.0 yards per run through three games, after his previous rate of 3.7 was reduced to 3.7 last season.
James is not the only football fan who is happy for the 2018 Offensive rookie of the Year to return to form after being out of action nearly all of 2020 because of a torn ACL.
Lawrence seemed to overlook James, who was a Cowboys fan growing up, celebrating CeeDee’s fourth quarter win. The wide receiver rebounded from an ugly drop and tallied 87 yards on eight receptions for an offense that was without Dak Prescott or Michael Gallup.
Lawrence may have wanted the NBA star to recognize his game-changing performance. Lawrence managed to match the tally from last season by collecting three sacks.
Lawrence was injured in the foot during the second quarter, but he returned to the Cowboys’ primetime win.
Lawrence wrote on Twitter, “They forgot,” after the win. “So, I had to remind them.”

Cooper Rush has replaced Prescott, who was injured. The Cowboys now have two consecutive wins. A tremendous defense has allowed the Cowboys to score a league-high 13, including three sacks, in just two games.
Dallas will be looking to extend its winning streak by hosting the Washington Commanders Sunday afternoon.
