Micah Parsons was a star for the Dallas Cowboys. The 2021 Defensive rookie of the year and First-Team All Pro nominee did everything to make a strong Cowboys defense. He wants to do it again. He is determined to improve his performance, even as DeMarcus Lawrence and his teammates try to match it.
Lawrence stated that he allowed a rookie to take the team’s lead in sacks last season. Parsons said that he did much more than that. Parsons told Cowboys’ veteran defensive line that he will never get that lead back.
Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence lamented last week that he “let a rookie” show him up in sacks. Micah Parson’s response?

Parsons had 13.0 sacks during 16 games, while Lawrence only had three in seven. In two previous seasons, Parsons has had double-digit sack totals in 16 games while Lawrence only recorded three in seven. This was most recently in 2018. Parsons enjoys the competitive energy that Lawrence’s comment brings. He stated that Lawrence will get 10 sacks if he gets 20.
Parsons will be back for another huge season with the Cowboys. They lost many free agents including defensive end Randy Gregory, and key offensive players in the wide receiver area and offensive line. However, the Philadelphia Eagles made numerous improvements. It will be difficult for them to win the NFC East again.
Parsons is a blessing to Dallas. Parsons placed 2nd in the Defensive Player Of The Year voting. He has all the motivation to improve his game, and win the hardware. Dallas is still a top-notch defense unit thanks to Jayron Kearse, Trevon Diggs, and Lawrence.
