Michael Irvin has a reputation for letting his Cowboys fandom and University of Miami fandom take over. This was evident once more on Monday.
Michael Irvin, who appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” to discuss Stephen A. Smith’s Return, stated that his former team is capable of catching the undefeated 1972 Dolphins. However, there was one caveat.
“If the Dallas Cowboys clean up these penalties, they will be chasing the [undefeated] 1972 Miami Dolphins,” Irvin claimed. “When you got the No. 1 offense, clean up these penalties, they will be chasing the 1972 Dolphins. Did I say something crazy?”

Last year, the NFL led in penalties and that theme continued into this weekend’s preseason opener.
Dallas lost its first tune up game against the Broncos. Mike McCarthy, head coach, said that “the penalties are clearly too great.” He doesn’t believe it has anything to do 2021.
17 penalties for 129 yards is clearly unacceptable in regular season. They should, especially if they intend to fulfill Michael Irvin’s prediction.
