In Week 1, the Dallas Cowboys were NFL’s only team without a touchdown. Although losing Dak Prescott in the middle of the game made it more difficult, Mike McCarthy still holds his offensive coordinator responsible.
McCarthy spoke out about Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator, in a brutally honest interview. Moore must be “smarter” in his playcalling, McCarthy stated.
Although it may seem harsh from one coach to the other, many people are actually in agreement with the sentiment. Some Cowboys fans point out that the Cowboys could improve their playcalling going forward, rather than saying that such a statement is indicative of internal dysfunction.

“Stop running for first down all the damn times!” One fan responded, “Be creative!”
“I have waited patiently for this. Another thank you, Mike McCarthy.”
“Call Mike lmaoooo,” wrote a third.

This isn’t to say Mike McCarthy doesn’t get flak for calling out Kellen Moon like that. Analysts believe that McCarthy is being thrown under the bus in this instance. It will likely lead to McCarthy’s firing in the middle of the season.
Dak Prescott, who is expected to be out for a significant amount of time due to a hand injury will keep the Cowboys from reaching their playoff goals before midseason.
McCarthy will lose his job if that happens.
