Mike McCarthy did a great job leading the Dallas Cowboys’ 4-1 start this season without Dak Prescott.
However, the Super Bowl-winning head coaching team made a terrible call Sunday night.
The Cowboys trailing 14-0 the Eagles, so they rushed to the line on a fourth and short in the second quarter. CeeDee Lamb seemed to have the first down on their previous play, but the line judge ruled against him.
Instead of waiting for the spot to be challenged – which would have been likely to have been successful – Cowboys ran a fourth down play without converting.
So the Cowboys rushed to the line and called a play so that the (checks notes) Cowboys couldn't challenge the spot?

Cowboys fans are unhappy
Why not challenge the spot on the third-down pass to CeeDee Lamb? On fourth down, Lamb got caught in the wash on the bootleg.

1. Challenge the spot.
2. Run the ball.— Patrik [No C] Walker (@VoiceOfTheStar) October 17, 2022
