After losing 23-17 at home to the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys have been eliminated from the playoffs. It was one of the strangest endings to a playoff match. Their coordinators are now interviewing for the head coaching position.
Dan Quinn, Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, is one of the most sought-after candidates for head coaching positions. The Cowboys’ defense transformation has been embraced by the league’s top offices. Quinn’s defense has gone from being middle of the pack to force turnovers in 2020 to league leaders at the end of the regular season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported via Twitter that Quinn has several interviews set for this week. There are several interviews available for head coaching positions, including the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings, as well as the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears.
Eight different NFL teams are currently looking for their next head coaches. There’s a chance that Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy may be losing one or both of his coordinators.
According Michael Gehlken, Dallas Morning News’ defensive coordinator for the Cowboys Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore, both are scheduled to interview Tuesday for the Denver Broncos head coaching job.
Quinn, 51 years old, is just finishing his first season as Cowboys’ defensive coach. Quinn was the Atlanta Falcons’ head coaching coach between 2015 and 2020, compiling a record of 43-42 with one NFC title.
Moore, 33, is the Dallas offensive coordinator. He was the quarterbacks coach for the 2018 season. Moore, a former quarterback, played for the Cowboys between 2015-17 and was previously with the Detroit Lions between 2012-14.
The Denver Broncos, The Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Chicago Bears, as well as the New York Giants, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders are all looking for new head coaches.
