Nahshon Wright’s first NFL draft score. The Cowboys selected the former Oregon State cornerback in the third round 2021 NFL Draft.
After losing to the Denver Broncos last week, the Dallas Cowboys are rebounding strongly. Despite the loss, Jerry Jones’ team is now 6-2 and has a comfortable lead over the rest in the NFC East.
Other key offensive contributors have been suffering from injuries for the past week. After returning against the Broncos, Quarterback Dak Prescott has returned to full health. Cedric Wilson, wide receiver, was carrying a questionable title into the weekend. Wilson is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.
Amari Cooper (hamstring), was limited in practice this week, but did not have an injury designation for the weekend. After being restricted Wednesday and Thursday, running back Ezekiel Elliott practiced fully on Friday. This week, the Cowboys activated receiver Michael Gallup after he was in an injured reserve.
Star defensive end Randy Gregory, who suffered a calf injury this week, was placed on injured reserve. Gregory will be out for Cowboys’ game against the Falcons. Gregory’s injury is likely to result in Micah Parsons, rookie linebacker/edge, seeing more playing time.
Dexter Lawrence only played in the season opener against Tampa Bay. Although he has made progress from his foot injury, he is not yet ready to play for the Cowboys.
