The Cowboys’ USFL MVP KaVontae Torpin was primarily known for his six college return touchdowns. Turpin displayed his hand skills in training camp but the Cowboys were eager for him to demonstrate his elusiveness for John Fassel’s special forces unit.
Turpin made two kick returns for 47 yards in the preseason game. He also caught a few fair passes, but it was too late at SoFi Stadium. Turpin was able to find a crease behind his strong blocking and his top speed made it impossible for Chargers’ defenses.

Turpin’s worth is now evident and it’s a pleasing sight after Dallas decided to place key players on its return unit, running back Tony Pollard as well as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Turpin is now expected to assume the role, and the unit’s excitement at the touchdown return will continue into the regular season.
